spring time
Spring time is officially here. My favorite season. I love the change this season brings, the weather is warming up, the birds are chirping, the sun is out longer, and the flowers are blooming around our home.
Fresh flowers make all the difference. I have been enjoying buying fresh flowers to display around our house. They bring such a brightness to each room. It also gives me an excuse to use all of the vases I have collected over the years. Trader Joe's has the best fresh flowers in my opinion for an affordable price.
Coffee outside is simply better. An absolute must of this season is trying new coffee shops & sitting outside to enjoy your beverage. We recently tried out a cute coffee shop downtown that had a small park with tables & chairs to sit in. My husband & I grabbed some cappuccinos, then sat outside talking about our goals and future plans.
Trying new recipes. I have really been pushing myself in the kitchen this season. I have been making homemade pasta for dinner: spaghetti, fettuccine, and ravioli. It is suprisingly way easier than I thought it would be, although it is very time consuming.
Pasta, yes please. My next pasta dish I would like to try making is shrimp scampi & homemade lasagna. There is something so rewarding about cooking something from scratch, then sitting down to share & enjoy with your family.
Home gardening has become one of my favorite hobbies. Over the past two weeks, I have visited some local nurseries to buy annual flowers for around our home. I decided to pick up SnapShot Rose Snapdragons, Prelude White Begonias, 'Hidcote Blue' English Lavender, and Riviera Midnight Blue Lobelia. All combined, the planters are looking beautiful.
Spring at home. I have been truly enjoying our time at home. It is important to relax this season and also reset your space. My spring cleaning is still in progress but I am taking my time with it, so I don't get too overwhelmed. We have started a few home projects that I am also trying to finish before the summer. I am feeling so inspired and motivated with the winter chill finally gone. I love this time of year.
